The Chatham Journal’s Gene Galin had an opportunity to sit down and do a video interview with Rick Tufts. Rick is a Chatham County resident and head brewer of the Triangle Brewing Company located in Durham.
The company’s flagship brew Belgium Golden Ale is the brewery’s only beer available for sale. Rick plans to introduce an Abbey Dubbel around the first of next year, followed by an Imperial Amber.

Golf legend Arnold Palmer teed off construction of the Lonnie Poole Golf Course at North Carolina State University in an invitation-only ceremony attended by more than 400 university patrons and golf course supporters Monday, July 9, on NC State’s Centennial Campus. He gave a brief speech to the assembled crowd.

Gene Galin interviews Robert Poitras at the new Pittsboro Carolina Brewery. On the day of the interview new brewery tanks had just been delivered from Canada and were being moved in.
A second Carolina Brewery is scheduled to open in Pittsboro beside the Lowe’s Home Improvement store at the intersection of 15-501 South and Hwy 64 Bypass. The te ntative opening is planned for August 6th. The new Pittsboro location will serve the same beer and food with private dining, a patio, and a small conference room. Seating is planned for 200. The brewery will be about fifty percent larger than at the Chapel Hill.
The brewery is accepting applications for all positions and you can download a job application at carolinabrewery.com. The Pittsboro management team will be on site daily beginning July 1st for interviews.
